"Meagan...Like Megan Fox?"

*The new title picture is one I took when walking around the Collesseum!

It has been a while since I have last posted but I have been busy with classes starting and trying to get around to everywhere and shopping! The state requires all the stores to put stuff atleast 30-40% off and it only happens twice a year, June and January. So we gotta get our shopping out of the way when everything is cheap (or cheaper atleast).

On Friday for class (yes for class) we went to The Roman Forum and The Colloseum; both are awesome places. There is so much history in one place it is hard to take it all in. When I am on these walking tours hearing about the significance of these buildings, I can't help but imagine what it must have been like when it was in its' prime. I can't believe how they made these HUGE buildings last for almost forever.

The Collesseum, to me is the most breathtaking building I have seen to date. And it only took 10 years to build! with NO machines! It was all done by pure human strength. It is huge and so well preserved. It was here that the gladiators would show their strength and courage by fighting animals and/or other gladiators. It is cool to be standing where there used to be stadium seating and imagine what it would be like filled with thousands and thousands of screaming Romans. It was also interesting to learn that women used to not be allowed to even go into the Collesseum for a long time.

Besides being blown away by amazing monuments and buildings, my friends and I have gone out to a couple bars and found that Campo di Fiori is the place to be! haha. It was fun seeing the place during the day when it is just an open piazza and then it is transformed at night by tons and tons of americans and italians out to have a good time. It is funny trying to talk to the Italians because they know minimal english and we know minimal italian so communicating is funny to sit back and listen to sometimes.

It is also funny to listen to the Italians talk about America. When you say you are from America the immediately think you are from New York and that that is the place to be. They all want to visit; some even ask to help them with their English so they can go to New York someday. They also connect things you say to the famous actors and actresses. We met some people that are in the Swiss Army and when they asked me my name and I answered they responded by asking, "Megan....like Megan Fox?" I thought it was pretty funny.

The pictures below are from the last couple of days. I love how the city has such a unique atmosphere and it can't be replicated any other way then just walking around the city at all different hours of the day. Every time brings a different feel to this experience.
